Having failed to guide India to the semi-finals of the just-concluded World T20 in the West Indies, Team India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni had to endure yet another failure in less than a week's time.
On this occasion it was the academics.
Dhoni failed to clear his first semester exams of Bachelor of Business Management and Secretarial Practice.
Earlier, the Indian captain failed in the 1st year of his B Com exams and his name was put up on the St Xavier's College, Ranchi, notice board.
After completing his schooling from DAV School nearly a decade ago, Dhoni had sought admission to the college in 2008 for his graduation.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni has got admission at the St. Xavier's College under sports quota and was exempted from attending classes because of his cricketing commitments.
He had passed the first semester, taking the examination from his Ranchi home.
Last year in July, however, the college had refuted reports that Dhoni had been denied promotion to second year after failing to appear in second semester examinations.
Dhoni, who was busy with his cricket commitments, had failed to appear in second semester examination held May-June last year.
All is not lost though.
Dhoni's course is of five years duration and he can complete the semesters during that period.
