16:23   Smith, Bailey hit centuries as Australia ease to victory in Perth ODI

AUSTRALIA WIN BY 5 WICKETS!!!

- Aus 310-5 (49.2 ovs) vs India 309-3 | SCORECARD

Australia's run machine Smith on the verge of another landmark, just two runs short of the 150-run mark.

The two Australian batsmen are in no hurry and are content to play it in singles, off Yadav in the penultimate over.

Smith is two short of the landmark, while Australia need three for victory. It will be interesting to see if he tries to finish off in style, with a boundary.

Yadav bowls a good yorker, which Smith drives to deep midwicket for a single from the fifth ball to take his score to 149.

The last ball is another good yorker as Marsh blocks it, leaving Australia to get two runs from the final over for victory.

And it is the young Sran, who gets the big wicket of Smith, caught in the covers after a superb innings of 149, hitting 11 fours and two sixes in 135 deliveries.

Did Smith lose his focus as he looked for a personal landmark, with just one run needed for his 150?

Faulkner comes down the track as Sran bowls a leg side wide before the right-hander drives it down to long-on for a single to take Australia to victory.
16:16

- Aus 304-4 (48 ovs) vs India 309-3 | SCORECARD

Yadav has been India's best bowler in this match and he sends down another good over, giving away just five singles.

India's players just going through the motions with Australia set for an easy victory.

Bhuvneshwar comes back with the hosts needing 12 from three overs for victory with six wickets in hand.

Smith throws his bat at a wide delivery but is beaten before he slaps it past point for three runs as the young Sran makes a superb stop on the ropes. That also brings up Australia's 300, in the 48th over as they continue to ease towards victory picking another three singles from the last three deliveries.

16:08   Captain Smith hits century, Australia set for easy win

- Aus 293-4 (46 ovs) vs India 309-3 | SCORECARD

Sran mixing things quite well as he attempts a slower bouncer which goes high over Smith for a wide.

Three singles before Marsh steers a wide delivery past point for three runs and Smith plays it even better off the next ball, hitting it fine for a four.

He drives the last ball through the covers for two runs as Sran goes for 13 runs in that over and also is at the receiving end of some words from Smith.

Ashwin has suddenly rediscovered his touch as Smith gets a leading edge which falls just a touch short of the bowler. He turns the next ball quite smartly square on the leg side, playing with enough timing to come back for two runs. Three more singles make it six runs from the over with Australia need another 17 runs for victory.
16:00   Maxwell fails with the bat as Australia lose 4th wicket

- Aus 274-4 (44 ovs) vs India 309-3 | SCORECARD

Has Dhoni missed a possible stumping chance? Smith comes down the track as Ashwin bowling from round the wicket slips it wide down the leg side but Dhoni fails to collect it.

But Ashwin gets the wicket in that over as Bailey is caught at long-off a few deliveries later with Bhuvneshwar doing well to run across to his right and judge it well.

Bailey walks back for 112 from 120 balls after he had put on a match-winning partnership of 242 runs for the third wicket with captain Smith.

Glenn Maxwell is the new batsman for Australia as left-armer Sran replaces Jadeja.

Australia in total control right now and only a cluster of wickets can bring India back into the contest.

Maxwell gets off the mark with a single, pulling a short ball from Bran to fine leg before Smith has a few words with the young pacer.

He nearly chops one back to the stumps in that over as he picks up a streaky single on the leg side and Maxwell ends the over with another run.

Australia are 269 for three in 43 overs with another 41 needed from 42 balls for victory.

Ashwin bowling against the man, who has given quite a lot of punishment -- Maxwell. He starts with two dot balls before slapping one through the covers for a four before he holes out to long-on attempting another big hit down the ground.

That wicket of Maxwell will give India a slimmer of a hope but Smith, batting on 129 from 116 balls, holds the key.

Australia do have all-rounders Marsh and Faulkner and wicketkeeper Wade to follow who are quite capable with the bat.

Two good overs in a row from Ashwin as he took two wickets for eight runs to improve his figures slightly to two for 62 in eight overs.

Australia are 274 for four in 44 overs with 36 runs needed from as many deliveries.
15:45   Smith, Bailey hit centuries as Australia dominate

- Aus 261-2 (41 ovs) vs India 309-3 | SCORECARD

Three singles before Smith drives Yadav through the off-side for two runs to take his score into the 90s. He attempts to play the ramp shot off a Yadav bouncer but fails to make connection before he attempts another big shot but is beaten again.

Bhuvneshwar's short ball hardly troubles Smith, who pulls it through square leg for a four to inch closer to his century. Two runs off the next ball and a single off the last ball takes him to 99 and also sees him retain strike.

Smith nudges Yadav on the leg side for a single to complete his century from just 97 balls and continue his magical run against India.

Yadav drops it short as Bailey rocks back and hammers it through point for a four followed by a single.

Two balls later Smith makes room and punches it straight down the ground past the fielder at mid-on for another four.

He has a wild swing at the last ball but gets an inside edge which narrowly misses the leg stump for the third four of the over.

Debutant Sran comes back after a long break, remember he picked up two wickets with the new ball but was not called for a long wait of 28 overs despite India's spinners struggling in the middle overs.

Smith decides to put the youngster under pressure as he smacks the second ball past mid-on for a four. Two balls later he deceives Smith with a slower ball which bounces more than expected hitting the Aussie captain high on the handle.

Jadeja comes back as Smith looks to break free, having completed his century. He comes down the track and lofts him straight down the ground for a six before he hits a boundary two balls later through point and keeps strike with a single from the last ball.

15:27   Bailey hits century as Australia dominate with the bat

- Aus 213-2 (36 ovs) vs India 309-3 | SCORECARD

Bhuvneshwar comes back as he has an appeal for LBW against Bailey turned down with the ball looking to slide down the leg side.

Bhuvi bowls a good first over in his second spell, conceding just two singles. India will need more such tight overs and hope they can make a breakthrough to bring themselves back into the contest.

Pacers from both ends now as Yadav is called back into the attack. Bailey crashes one through the covers where the fielder half stops it to keep it down to two and Bailey turns the next ball fine on the leg side for another followed by a single to take his score to 98.

In the next over, Bailey completes his century from 106 balls with two runs off  Bhuvneshwar with the second run coming courtesy of an overthrow. Superb innings from the former Australia ODI captain in the company of the current skipper!

He was lucky to be ruled not out off the first delivery he faced Sran, when he had got a glove but the umpire ruled in his favour.

The match is looking completely in Australia's grasp as they reach 213 for two in 36 overs with another 97 needed from 14 overs for victory.
15:15

- Aus 200-2 (33 ovs) vs India 309-3 | SCORECARD

After a brief dabble with Kohli, who bowled two overs for 13 runs, and a couple of overs from Yadav, Dhoni brings back both his spinners.

Bailey attempts the paddle sweep but the ball falls short of the fielder at short fine leg and they scamper across for a quick single.

Ashwin, from round the wicket, drops it short as Smith has enough time to rock back and hammer it through the covers for a four.

In the next over, Jadeja also drops short as Smith helps himself to another four, pulling it over fine leg region to take his score into the 80s.

The two spinners combined have gone for 103 runs in 14 overs without taking a single wicket and that underlines India's bowling woes in Perth.

Australia are looking in cruise control at the moment, having reached 200 for two in 33 overs with Bailey on 92 and Smith on 84.
15:05   Smith, Bailey's counter-attack puts Australia in control

- Aus 180-2 (30 ovs) vs India 309-3 | SCORECARD

Despite having five bowlers in their team, India decide to continue with Kohli, who is bowling slow loopy medium pacers.

A gift-wrapped short ball is pulled handsomely through the gap at midwicket by Bailey for a four as Australia cruise to 180 for two in 30 overs.

Bailey has looked in control from the start, to reach 86 from 91 balls, while Smith has made 70 from 68 balls.

14:54   Smith, Bailey lead Australia's stunning counter-attack

- Aus 168-2 (28 ovs) vs India 309-3 | SCORECARD

Ashwin suffering some punishment at the hands of Bailey. The right-hander comes down the track and lofts Ashwin high over long-off for his second six.

Smith joins in the party as he cuts a short ball from Ashwin through the off-side for a four. He comes down the track to the next delivery and lofts it straight down the ground for a six as Ashwin goes for a massive 19 runs in an over, he has given away 48 runs in five overs. This counter-attack has left the Indians stunned with both their spinners suffering.

A desperate Dhoni brings back Yadav, who bowls a tidy over and ends up conceding just five runs.

Another gamble by Dhoni as he introduces part-time medium pacer Virat Kohli into the attack.

He starts with a wide half-volley which Bailey drives past the cover fielder for two runs but is unable that fielder off the next two balls.

Bailey nearly ends up hitting a return catch back to Kohli but it falls just short of him. Two singles from the last two balls make it just five runs from Kohli's first over.

Dhoni must realise that taking wickets is the only way to back into the match, merely bowling tight overs won't help.

Australia have reached 168 for two in 28 overs, with another 142 needed from 22 overs at 6.45 runs per over.
14:43   Smith, Bailey hit 50s to put Australia in control

- Aus 139-2 (25 ovs) vs India 309-3 | SCORECARD

The Indian spinners are proving be totally ineffective on this flat wicket as Australia continue to milk them around with considerable ease. Six runs from Jadeja's fourth over as Bailey brings up his half-century, from 60 balls.

Not the best of starts for Ashwin with the ball, having given away 17 runs in his first two overs. He manages to pull things back somewhat as he concedes just five runs in his third over.

But Australia's batsmen are having no problems at all as they easily pick six singles off Jadeja's fifth over.

Ashwin also keeps leaking runs as after conceding three singles off his first four balls, Bailey reverse sweeps him through thirdman region for a four.

India need to break this partnership within the next few or else the two Australian batsmen look set to take this match away from India's grasp. They have made batting look so easy out in the middle as runs are coming freely.

Smith also completes his ninth ODI fifty from 55 balls with another easy single before Bailey steals another two runs from the last ball of Jadeja's sixth over.

At the halfway stage, Australia have reached 139 for two in 25 overs, with another 171 needed from 150 balls for victory.

Bailey has looked quite positive to score 65 from 73 balls, while Smith has made 52 from 56 balls with the duo having put on 118 runs for the third wicket so far.
14:29

- Aus 107-2 (20 ovs) vs India 309-3 | SCORECARD

Jadeja bowls another tidy over, giving away just four runs as India look to dry up the boundaries and contain Australia in the middle overs.

Yadav bowls a short ball to Smith, who shuffles across and pulls it to fine leg for a single. Bailey takes a risky single two balls later and Yadav follows it with a wide down the leg side. Two singles from the last two deliveries takes Australia to 82 for two in 17 overs as drinks are called.

Just two overs for Jadeja in his first spell before India's premier spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is called into the attack. Bailey takes a single from the first ball before Smith makes most of a short ball, cutting it past point for a four and follows it with a single to long-on with two more singles coming from the last three balls as Ashwin goes for eight in his first over.

It turns out to be a change of ends for Jadeja with Yadav getting a break after bowling three overs for 11 runs.

Jadeja drops short as Smith hits it through the square leg region for a four as eight runs come from another over of spin.

Australia keen to be positive against the spinners, not letting them settle down. Infact, Bailey reverse sweeps Ashwin and finds the gap through the off-side for a four. Interestingly, Dhoni has placed a fielder straight behind himself inside the circle with a view to perhaps stop the batsmen from attempting the paddle sweeps.

Australia have recovered to 107 for two in 20 overs with another 203 needed from 30 overs for victory.

14:13   Smith, Bailey rally Australia after early wickets

- Aus 73-2 (15 ovs) vs India 309-3 | SCORECARD

Sran, who bowled a superb first spell of two for 29 in six overs, makes way for fast bowler Umesh Yadav.

Yadav makes most of the extra bounce on offer as he strikes Bailey on the thumb with an express delivery. That was painful but Bailey still has to answer his captain's call for a quick single.

The last ball is again short as Smith pulls it unconvincingly on the leg side for just a single.

The Rohit experiment is discontinued after just one over as left-armer Ravindra Jadeja is called into the attack. Smith immediately takes a few steps down the track and lofts the first ball over midwicket for three runs. Two more singles as Jadeja rushes through his first over.

Yadav bowled right through the World Cup last year and he has settled into a good rhythm here. His second over is again a good one as just three come from it, including a wide.

After 15 overs, Australia are 73 for two with another 237 needed from 35 overs for victory at a required rate of 6.77.

Bailey is looking to be positive, to score 30 from 38 balls, while Smith has made 24 from 31 balls.
13:59

- Aus 62-2 (12 ovs) vs India 309-3 | SCORECARD

The field is spread around after the completion of the first ten overs of Powerplay. Sran continues as Smith turns the first ball on the leg side for one. Sran attempts a short ball which Bailey pulls powerfully through midwicket for a four.

He drops short again and Bailey repeats the short, hitting another four square of midwicket this time.

The fielder has been pushed back at midwicket and Bailey pulls the fifth ball towards him for a single to bring up Australia's 50, in the 11th over.

He continues to bowl short as Smith pulls this time but can't beat the fielder at mid-on for another run.

A surprise move from Dhoni as he brings part-timer Rohit Sharma into the attack ahead of Ashwin and Jadeja.

Australia are up to the task as Bailey comes down the track and lofts him straight back over his head for a six after three singles had come from the first four deliveries of the over.

Two runs from the last ball as Rohit goes for 11 in his first over as Australia look to get some momentum back in their innings after two early wickets.

- Aus 40-2 (10 ovs) vs India 309-3 | SCORECARD

Bhuvneshwar generating some good pace as he bowls a quick bouncer to Bailey, but it goes well over the batsman and is called a wide for height.

Smith drives a full delivery through the off-side for two runs as Jadeja does well to retrieve it before Bhuvi bowls another quick bouncer and again it is called a wide.

He is bowling in the high 130s and doing well to keep it tight with the new ball.

Bailey drives a full delivery from Sran confidently but Kohli makes a good diving stop at mid-off to save some runs. Another good over from the youngster as he concedes just a single in his fourth over.

India nearly steal another wicket as Smith and Bailey have a misunderstanding with the former doing well to make his ground at the striker's end. Smith pulls the fifth ball on the leg side for three runs as just four runs come from Bhuvi's fourth over.

Sran tests Bailey with a good short delivery which he pulls awkwardly for two runs followed by a single.

Weird batting stance from Bailey as he stands more side on than usual, facing more towards mid-off than straight towards the bowler.

However, he looks comfortable out in the middle as he proves by crashing a half-volley from Bhuvi through the covers for his first four before playing out the rest of the over.

After 10 overs, Australia are 40 for two in 10 overs with Smith on 13 and Bailey on nine.
13:31   Debutant Sran's double strike leaves Australia in trouble

- Aus 21-2 (5 ovs) vs India 309-3 | SCORECARD

In his next over, Sran gets the big wicket of Warner, who looks to loft it down the ground but is caught at mid-off.

Warner walks back for five to leave Australia in a spot of bother at 21 for two in five overs.

George Bailey survives a huge appeal for catch down the leg side as he looks to fend a short ball from Sran.

The youngster bowled a good bouncer and was lucky not to get that wicket with the snickometer showing that Bailey had gloved it.

Superb bowling from the young fast bowler, who has taken two for 13 in three overs.
13:29   Sran strikes on debut, Finch dismissed for 7

- Aus 14-1 (3 ovs) vs India 309-3 | SCORECARD

Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who replaced the injured Mohammed Shami, to bowl the second over. He bowls a wide to Finch down the leg side before the right-hander takes a leg bye from the last ball as Bhuvi makes a tidy start.

Sran strikes in his second over with the wicket of Finch, his first in international cricket. Finch looks to drive a wide delivery but ends up hitting it back to the bowler, who does well to take a sharp return catch.
13:09

- Aus 3-0 (1 ov) vs India 309-3 | SCORECARD

Australia's dangerous batting duo of David Warner and Aaron Finch walk out to open the batting. Up against them is debutant Barinder Sran, the left-arm pacer from Punjab.

He starts with a short delivery which Finch pulls to fine leg for two runs and does the same off the next ball but just for a single.

Sran bowls a good delivery first up to Warner on length and around the off-stump, as the left-hander defends it watchfully. Sran pitches the next one up as Warner drives it but can't beat the fielder at mid-off and defends the last ball on the leg side as just three runs come from the over.

Kohli was unlucky to miss out on his century, having hit 91, as he put on 207 runs for the second wicket with Rohit to lay the foundation for India's huge total, their highest against Australia in Australia.

Superb batting by the two batsmen after Dhawan had been dismissed early for nine, in the seventh over.

India will be confident of defending this huge total, having gone in with five bowlers. Meanwhile, all eyes will be on debutant Barinder Sran, who impressed in the warm-up games. Stay tuned!

- India 309-3 (50 ovs) vs Aus | SCORECARD

Against the run of play, India lose the wicket of Dhoni, who is caught at midwicket by Boland off Faulkner for 18. The Indian captain hit a four and a six in his 13-ball knock and was looking to get some quick runs before a sharp catch ended his vigil.

Ravindra Jadeja gets a promotion and he gets off the mark in smashing fashion, lofting a full delivery down the ground for a four past long-on.

The next ball is full and wide as Jadeja steers it past point and ends up stealing three runs to bring Rohit back on strike. Superb running between the two batsmen to pinch an extra run off Maxwell, at sweeper cover.

Rohit takes a quick single off the fifth ball and Jadeja picks one from the last ball to retain strike as Faulkner finishes with two for 60 from 10 overs.

Debutant Boland to bowl the final over of the innings. The first ball is right up as Jadeja drives it down to long-off for a single. Rohit looks to sweep Boland but gets a leading edge, infact of the back of the bat and it nearly carries all the way, falling just short for a four.

The next ball is full and Rohit is happy to free his arms and crash it straight back over the bowler's head for his seventh six. The fourth ball is a yorker and Rohit can only drive it down to long-off for a single.

A single for Jadeja to long-on and Rohit also does the same off the last ball as India finish on a huge 309 for three in their 50 overs.

A single to sweeper cover off the next ball takes Rohit to 150, from 155 balls...amazing innings from the India opener!

The fifth ball is again a full toss as Boland misses the yorker and again Rohit hits it over long-on for another huge six.

He gets it right off the last ball, a yorker outside the off-stump as Rohit defends it for a single to retain strike.

Rohit also brings up his 1000 runs against Australia in ODIs, the fastest to score 1000 runs against Australia, in just 19 innings, breaking the record held by two greats Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara, who got the landmark in 20 balls.

Australia's best bowler of the innings Hazlewood to bowl his final over. He bowls a short ball to Dhoni who looks to pull but misses before taking a single. Rohit nudges it fine on the off-side for one before Dhoni takes two from the next ball. Two more singles makes it six runs from the over as Faulkner finishes with good figures of one for 41 in 10 overs.

Rohit makes room bu Faulkner keeps it tight, keeping the batsmen down to one. Dhoni on the charge as he blasts Faulkner straight back over his head for a mighty six before he pulls a short ball on the leg side for one.

Rohit shuffles across and paddle scoops Faulkner fine on the leg side for a four. That was risky but Rohit managed to pull it off quite well before he ends the over with two runs on the leg side to take his score to 143.

- India 248-2 (45 ovs) vs Aus | SCORECARD

Faulkner comes back and makes the breakthrough with the key wicket of Kohli. The right-hander, on 91, looks for a big shot down the ground but fails to find enough power and is caught at long-on.

He hit nine fours and a six in his 97-ball innings, putting on 207 runs for the second wicket with Rohit to lay the foundation for India's huge total.

And he deserves rich praise for his selfless act, as he took a chance so close to his century when he had enough time to complete the three-figure mark.

Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni walks in at No. 4 and gets off the mark with a four, pulling a short ball fine on the leg side.

Hazlewood continues to keep it tight as he gives away just five runs in his ninth over as India reach 242 for one in 44 overs with Kohli on 91 and Rohit on 133.

In the next over, Rohit goes after a length delivery from Paris, lofting it back over the bowler's head down the ground for a straight six to take India past the 200-run mark, in the 39th over.

He looks to make room but ends up chopping the last ball back on to his foot and winces in pain as he takes the quick single.

Rohit has decided to cut loose. He goes after Boland in his next over, lofting him over mid-on for a four, and again he has gone after a full length delivery.

The next ball is sliding down the leg side as Rohit helps it fine for another four. He flicks the last ball uppishly square on the leg side for the third boundary of the over as Boland goes for 12 runs.

Marsh comes back as Australia continue to rotate their bowlers. He bowls a short wide delivery to Kohli, who rocks back and cuts it over point for a four followed by a single on the leg side. Marsh has struggled to keep the runs down, having given 36 runs in six overs.

Paris is back as the Australia decide to keep Faulkner's three overs for the death.

Three singles from the first three balls before Rohit smashes it powerfully back over the bowler's head for a four to take his score to 97. A single from the last ball helps him retain the strike and his score two runs away from a century.

India are 180 for one in 35 overs, scoring at over five runs per over and looking good for a score well in excess of 300, maybe 325!

Rohit drives the third ball from Marsh to sweeper cover for a single to take his score to 99. Kohli promptly takes a single to bring his partner back on strike, who gets behind a short ball and defends it watchfully and blocks the last ball to end a good over from Marsh.

- India 163-1 (32 ovs) vs Aus | SCORECARD
