The pressure pays off for Canada. Ayub looks to release the pressure as he attempts to heave pacer Dillon Heyligver over midwicket but gets the inside edge and wicketkeeper Movva takes a good catch to his right.

The change of openers hasn't worked for Pakistan as Ayub walks back after scoring six from 12 balls.

Heyliger tries the bouncer to new batter Babar Azam, but it goes down the leg side and is ruled a wide.

Heyliger bowls a superb inswinger to beat Babar on the inside edge as the ball goes through the gap between bat and pad.

There is a huge appeal for catch down the leg side off Babar, who walks across but misses the glance.

The Canadians are confident but the umpire is unmoved before they take the review.

This could be a big blow for Pakistan. But the ball has missed the bat and there is nothing on the Ultra Edge as Babar heaves a huge sigh of relief.

Singles off the last three balls as Canada finish on 106/7 in 20 overs, with 10 coming from the final over.

Heyliger gets a thick outside edge last ball for another single to thirdman.

Spinner Imad is back into the attack. Bin Zafar is beaten first ball on the outside edge before he takes a single off the second ball.

Johnson hammers the fourth ball straight down the ground and again despite the ball not coming off the middle it has cleared the fence for a six.

He keeps strike with a single from the last ball of the over.

Rauf continues from the other end. Johnson miscues the ball high on the leg side as he attempts to hit Rauf over the top. Fakhar Zaman at midwicket puts down a simple catch running back at midwicket. He looked very casual with his effort as he ran back slowly and despite getting close to the ball he was unable to pouch it as it flicked his finger tips.

Johnson continues to find the boundaries. He lofts Imad straight down the ground for a six over long-off to complete his fifty in grand style from 39 balls.

With four sixes and as many fours, 40 runs off his 51 have come in boundaries.

That is Rauf's 100th wicket in T20 Internationals.

Two balls later, Rauf strikes again. Wonderful delivery from the fast bowler as he gets new batter Ravinderpal Singh caught behind for a duck.

The full delivery swung away and Singh looking to defend from the crease got the edge and was taken by Fakhar at slip.

Movva is beaten on the outside edge as he looks to defend against Afridi before he is hurried on the pull shot for a single to midwicket.

Afridi from round the wicket gets the ball to swing into Johnson, who is beaten and struck on the pads. There is a huge appeal for LBW but the impact looks quite high as Pakistan decide against the review.

Johnson makes room and thumps the last ball straight down the ground for a six. That was a clear miscue from the right-hander but the ball had enough power to clear the boundary.

Johnson has smashed his way to 34 from 25 balls to bring up Canada's 50, in the eighth over.

Left-arm spinner Imad Wasim comes into the attack. Movva clips the first ball off his pads for one and Johnson takes a risky single in the covers off the third ball.

An angry Rauf responds with a bouncer which is too high as it goes over the batter and also beats the wicketkeeper for five wides, which is quite handy for the batting team on this tricky pitch.

Johnson goes hard at the wide delivery only to edge it to thirdman for one and Kirton takes a single next ball.

Canada lose a wicket off the last ball courtesy of a run out. Johnson pushes the last ball from Rauf into the covers as he initially looks for a single before deciding against it. His partner Kirton is a long way out of his crease and can't get back into his crease as Imad Wasim in the covers throws down the stumps with a brilliant direct hit.

Canada slip to 43/3 in seven overs.

Mohammad Amir replaces Afridi, who struggled in the opening over.

He starts with a wide half-volley which Dhaliwal drives through the covers for a boundary.

Two balls later, Amir gets the ball to swing away quite a lot as Dhaliwal gets the edge but it falls short of the wicketkeeper.

Another beauty from Amir as he slants it across the right-hander, who is completed squared up as he looks to defend but is beaten.

Amir follows it up with a yorker which is somehow kept out by Dhaliwal as he gets his bat down in time.

The last ball is a cracker! Amir gets the full delivery to swing in sharply as Dhaliwal is bowled through the gate for four.

Canada 16-0 (2 ovs) vs Pak | Scorecard

Aaron Johnson and Navneet Dhaliwal are the two openers for Canada, while left-armer Shaheen Shah Afridi will open the bowling for Pakistan.

The next ball is again a full toss which Johnson drives straight down the ground past mid-off for another four.

He then hits the third ball uppishly straight for a couple of runs. Johnson misses the clip off the fifth ball which goes off the pads for leg byes.

The last ball is again a full toss as Dhaliwal can't make most, driving it to the fielder in the covers.

Naseem Shah to bowl the second over. He starts with a wide before Johnson continues his bright start as he cuts a short wide delivery over point for his third four, from six balls faced.

Naseem gets the ball to move away as Johnson defending inside the line is beaten. He plays and misses again but this time Pakistan are interested in the caught behind appeal which is turned down.

19:28   Do-or-die for Pakistan against Canada

The pitch at the Nassau County International Stadium hasn't been quite tough for the batters.

In the last two games at this venue, teams have struggled to chase down low totals.

Bangladesh failed to chase down 114 against South Africa on Monday and a day before Pakistan finished on 113/7 after being set 120 for victory.

The toss could become crucial if the pitch continues to aid the bowlers.

19:21   Do-or-die for Pakistan against Canada

Welcome to the coverage of the T20 World Cup match between Pakistan and Canada in New York on Tuesday.

Shocked by the United States and scarred by India, Pakistan have little to play for and everything to lose when they meet Canada in their penultimate group league encounter.

If the Super Over loss against co-hosts USA in their opening Group A match was not enough, Pakistan slumped to six-run loss at the hands of arch-rivals India in a low-scoring match on Sunday.

Pakistan's Super 8 qualification chance hinges on winning big in their last two games against Canada and Ireland, besides hoping that USA lose to India and Ireland by big margins.

Even in that scenario, both the teams will end on four points each and it will boil down to which team has a better net run rate (NRR). Hence Pakistan can only pray for divine intervention in best case scenario.

USA, after two wins, enjoy a healthy run-rate of +0.626 and just a victory against Ireland would suffice, while Pakistan with a dismal NRR of -0.150 would not only need to win but also by comprehensive margins.

Not a single department clicked for Pakistan in the two matches so far and they will need a more cohesive effort against Canada to give themselves an outside chance.

Pakistan's major concern going forward is the underwhelming performance of their batters as the likes of Fakhar Zaman, Imad Wasim, Shadab Khan and Iftikhar Ahmed played loose shots to
make life difficult for them against India.

The only bright sport for Pakistan on Sunday was the performance of their bowlers with Naseem Shah (3/21) and Mohammad Amir (2/23) leading from the front.

But premier fast bowler Afridi needs to take more responsibility upfront in the remaining two games to give Pakistan an outside chance. He has hardly been able to get swing in conducive conditions.

Going forward Pakistan will have to do some soul searching if they want to revive their faltering campaign.

Canada, on the other hand, are placed third in Group A with one win out of two games. After the seven-wicket loss to USA, Canada bounced back in style to beat Ireland by 12 runs in their next match.
